March 30th 2005: The day Martin's life changed forever. He was playing and running with his children when the lower half of his body moved in one direction and the upper half in the other. The pain in his lower back and down his leg was absolutely excruciating - a 10 that lasted the next 3 months 24/7. This type of pain alters the way one looks at life. Martin spent the next year trying every possible type of therapy he could find. Some offered temporary relief, but nothing provided him with a completely pain free day. He was on the verge of getting back surgery, but after reading horror stories of surgeries gone badly, he knew that had to be his last option. Exasperated, Martin decided to join a gym and work daily with Brian Mahon, a personal trainer. After all the doctors, physical therapists, and chiropractors he had seen, it was physical activity that helped him become pain free. With a mix of strength, balance, and endurance training, he finally felt great. Martin has been obsessed with the human body ever since - spending endless hours studying how it functions, why it breaks down, and what it takes to keep it moving efficiently and pain free.

 

In 2010 Martin discovered the magic of resistance stretching and mashing. This modality, Dynamic Contraction Technique™, keeps the body stress-free and greatly increases range of motion and range of strength. After getting certified in DCT™, Martin continued to be amazed at how well it worked with his clients. On numerous occasions he has witnessed pain melt away after just a single session. Many of the DCT™ practitioners get together as often as possible to stretch each other and keep our their own bodies functioning at top levels.

 

The human body is made for motion. Regardless of age or current condition, keep it moving to maintain a high quality of life.
